Who? Us?

Here are the ducks, aka the dye plant destruction gang.  They look amazingly innocent, don't they?  So far they have not breached the security perimeter of indigo jail, so I think we have reached a truce.

They are production (not show) Indian Runners.  Their color is called fawn and white.  The duck who wanted to be a rooster in the original "Babe" movie about the sheep-herding pig, was a white Indian Runner.  The show Runners are a lot skinnier and are shaped more like a Coke bottle.  Despite heavy daily cardio training, roaming our property eating lots of "salad" (greens) and complemented by small quantities of protein (bugs), they are decidedly plump.  They do get pelleted duck food when they are locked into their house at night.  Perhaps they should adopt Oprah's rule of never eating after 7:30 PM.

Six of my ducks are three years old and two are 7 or 8 years old.  They are all females and lay delicious eggs.  I can't tell them apart.  Some of them used to have little colored ankle bracelets, but when the bracelets fell off I decided that they knew who they were and that was good enough for me.
