Lambs in the big world (still catching up)
Here are some photos of the lambs from mid to late May out in the "big world" of the pasture. I still bring them in at night to the barn / lamb pen because I feel they are safer there.
Laila (Lila), ewe lamb out of Martti x Katja She's staying here.

Ram lamb out of AI Tanu x Annika. He's going to a new home in New Jersey this summer. I love his "Eddie Munster" hairdo!

Eeva (Ava) ewe lamb out of AI Ventti x Helmi. She's staying here.

White wether lamb out of Martti x Katja. He's going to live with my friend Sandy here is Wisconsin.

Vesa (means sprout or young tree), a white ram lamb out of AI Tanu x Lumi. He was the one born with the reddish tint due to the pheomelanin pigment. Notice how it is fading already? He is has pretty dark pigment inside his ears and a tiny bit left on his legs. (Compare to the very pink ears on the other white lambs.) He is a "keeper" at least for now, so I have a back up for his brother for the Tanu line.

Lambs and ewes grazing. When Pilvi's babies were little, I left their lamb coats on them for a while. They are the youngest litter of the group. Since it was still cool outside they were fine wearing the jackets and I could identify them at a distance to make sure they weren't getting picked on or getting into trouble.
