Joe, Our Furry Cupid
Saturday, we went down to the Chicago suburbs for the wedding reception of our friend, "Big Mike" and his new bride Stephanie. We were invited to the wedding also, but it was in the early afternoon and the reception was in the evening. So that didn't work out for Upal and I to both attend together if we had to be gone for so long and have a 2 hour drive there and back. So we chose going to the reception since we would be able to visit with everyone.
The tie-in of this wedding to Firefly Fields, is that it would not have happened (by my system of logic) without the help of our boy-dog "Joe".

Upal met "Big-Mike" when Mike started working at company where Upal was working at the time. Mike was fresh out of college and several hours away from his family in the Detroit area. Along with a couple of other guys, he would often come up to our house (first to our previous acreage and then our farm) to hang out on some of the weekends. Our dog, Joe, loves these young guys because Joe loves to fetch and the guys were all willing to throw things to be fetched for a very long time (and were even impressed that he would bring it back).
Mike was dating a girl who turned out to be not-so-nice and broke up with him. When he decided to try to meet a girl on line using e-Harmony, one of the photos he posted of himself was one taken at our house with our dog Joe. He thought he might meet a nice girl that liked dogs.
His plan worked! He met Stephanie who has an adorable Westie (West Highland White Terrier) named "Sammie". Here is a photo of the very happy Mike and Stephanie on their special day...

... and it was all because of Joe.
